Bye to Branson

This has been a great week in Branson despite the rainy days that we have had. Yesterday was gorgeous even if I had to go to the doctor; that's right. I was having quite a time with allergies, I guess due to the weather. Now, I'm on Allegra and I'm improving quite a lot. It hasn't held me down though. We have enjoyed 4 shows: Chubby Checker on Sunday, a variety/dinner show on Monday, singing Waiters/lunch on Tuesday, the Presley's on Wednesday, and SIX today. My favorite show was Chubby Checker who absolutely brought the house down! SIX was fantastic too, unbelievable is more like it. They have all been great shows, however, but now it's time to pack and depart. The accommodations have also been wonderful, far above my expectations! And, most importantly, the people are so friendly, considerate, and neighborly. I highly recommend a trip to Branson and The Colonnade is a wonderful place to stay. There are so many shows here that I would like to see but I will leave them for another trip.

Our one disappointment was that we didn't get to see Andy Williams; he is on vacation for another week. Monday, he did come and sign his book but we were late getting there and missed out on that opportunity. Oh well, maybe next trip.

Have a happy halloween, everyone. We will be home in time to say "BOO" to the Babies we hope.

Browsing in Branson

What a fun place Branson is!! This is probably my fourth visit to the small Ozark town where show after show is available, for every taste of music! Last night was one of my very favorite! Chubby Checker, a 1960's icon who made famous song of the Twist and other songs. The concert was absolutely wonderful! And, of all celebraties that I have ever met, he is by far the most personable. I was very impressed to say the least; of course, that is my generation's kind of music, right Jackie? We talked about the old days, things going on today, and our home states in the south. Naturally, I had to forget my camera but he insisted that someone else take our picture together. Now, I will see if I will actually receive the photograph.

Today, we will go sightseeing around the area since we have a car in which we can navigate; we will be visiting areas that we have never before seen. The hotel is providing a meal and entertainment later this evening so we won't take in a show tonight. The show prices here are so much less than Myrtle Beach, thank goodness, because we plan to take in at least 2 more shows.

Let's go browsing around Branson now.

Paint is Drying

ubby got the closet painted a few minutes ago. Now, I'm waiting for it to dry so that I can clean up the study. I really need to be doing other things but sometimes we have to stop what we want to be doing and do something different. The computer is in the room where the closet is being painted and I have difficulty breathing these fumes.

Last night, our choir was invited to a nearby church for a community revival. We sang 3 songs and they were well received by those in attendance. Now, tonight, we will begin our cantata practicing I think. I finally got the cantata put together and the youth Sunday School teacher is playing a big role in the preparations and rehearsal. I certainly do appreciate her efforts.

I spent the morning in the dentist's office have 2 gold crowns removed and preparations being done for a new bridge. There was actually no pain involved, just lots of sitting and listening to the loud, annoying whirr of the drill as it reshaped my 2 teeth to fit the necessary bridge. Oh, what fun but worse yet, oh, what a price!! My advice to all young people: take good care of your teeth! I now have lost 2 of my permanent teeth and I have always taken good care of them, just not good enough I guess. So, while the paint is drying, teeth I'm buying, purse is crying, and I'm sitting here sighing because I'm not lying.

One Job Leads to Another!

Today was supposed to be a fun day with the grands since there was no school; well, it was a fun day but I ended up having to clean out a closet that had decided today was the day for that. Why today? Probably, because we were on our trip to Louisiana during all the wet weather here and we turned the heat off while gone. The temperature dropped here and for some reason, one of our closets which is on an outside wall became rather damp; therefore, It had to be cleaned. Now, I have to spend a couple days cleaning the study and Hubby plans to paint that closet while it's clean and empty. One job always leads right into another one, doesn't it? All in all, it was a rather fun day and I'm a "satisfied" tired tonight.

In a Facebook Frenzy

Since I have joined Facebook, it seems that I have almost no time to blog. I don't really have that many people who follow my blogs but I will try to keep it going. It seems that almost everyone is in a facebook frenzy.

We are now in Louisiana getting the motorhome worked on. It was a long trip down but necessary one, according to hubby. We spent the first night in Georgia, then in Louisiana and have been here going on 2 nights. We plan to leave tomorrow if the weather is permitting; it has been so rainy today that we decided to stay another night. We have to get home so we can think about another trip. Right now, I have a very sore throat and it's driving me nuts. I also have a hacking cough and that's even worse than the sore throat, believe me. It's difficult to sleep or anything. My friend, JC, sent me an email though and I'm convinced that I have a cold and not the flu. I have no fever nor any of the other symptoms of flu. I do have the blahs which is a symptom of both (or just lazy).

Can I handle it?

My schedule has gotten so cluttered that I don't know if I can handle it all. From now until Christmas looks like a mess! There is just too much on my plate; I need something larger than a platter. Hubby says things gett too busy for me and often times I will have a sick bout in January. It happened this past January and was absolutely the worst: 2 trips to the doctor and 3 weeks of illness. Pray that I will stay well after this. I have to finish writing/refining our Christmas cantata; then, I must get on my Sunday School lesson which I will be teaching Sunday; I have to pack the RV for an unexpected trip to have some repairs done; shopping trips planned with family and friends; and, a couple of totally fun things to do. Even so, fun things take planning and Christmas shopping takes a lot of thought and searching for the right gift for the right person. I do love this season though and am not complaining; all I want to do is stay well before, during, and after the season. Can I handle it? Sure.
