Nice Thanksgiving

I hope that you all had a nice Thanksgiving. We had a great time at our daughter's home despite the fact that we got lost trying to get to her house. It seems that so much construction has taken and is taking place, that many of the street signs have been removed and not replaced yet. Not only was the street sign gone, there were so many additional businesses added at that intersection that it was no longer in the "country". Harris Teeter on one corner, Walgreen Drug on one and continued construction on the other 2. Instead of a two-lane narrow road, there was a four-lane street and housing developments along the way. After 3 phone conversations, we finally ended up there only one hour late. Nevertheless, turkey dinner and fellowship was wonderful! Now, we are back home and making final plans for our usual "Black Friday" outing. My sister and I don't get out early as many; we will take off at 8:00Am and continue until about 7:00 PM. Now, that is about 4 hours shorter than usual because one of my sisters just doesn't feel like she can make it as long as we used to. We will have a great time regardless of the number of hours. If you are out in the crowds, enjoy your day and be safe. This is one of my favorite days of the year!!! It's a great way to end a nice Thanksgiving Day.

Round in Circles!

I have been so involved in Facebook that I practically forgot that I have a blog to tend to as well. Anyway, I will try to do better in the future.

Since my return from Branson, I have been to the beach twice: once with 7 other lady friends for a long weekend of shopping and just having fun; and, I have just returned from a three-day trip with my 2 sisters and one of my brothers. We went to see two Christmas shows, hopefully to get me more into the Christmas spirit I suppose (actually, I stay in that spirit much of the time anyway). We did a little shopping but that wasn't the intent of this trip.

I had a birthday this week and when I returned I had about 40 birthday wishes on my Facebook and phone answering machine! Today, one of my friends treated me to lunch and while we were gone, my sister-in-law stopped by with a gift. This has been a great birthday; I love every one of them and hope to have many more.

After one more trip (next to Williamsburg, VA), I will be home until after Christmas. Maybe that will be the end of my going around in circles for awhile.

Barefootin'

Well, we are home from Branson after a very long, tiring ride in the rain. We did beat the rain here; however, Sunday morning it was raining again. And, guess what! It's raining this early Monday morning too. As I have mentioned before though, I don't mind the rain; I don't prefer to ride in it for 10+ hours though, especially when I'm fighting 18 wheelers and many cars on the different interstates.

I am glad to be home for a few days before leaving again. I have only one regret from the last trip: I left my favorite pair of tennis shoes in Branson. Now, I have to admit they enjoyed walking the streets in Branson, toe-tapping at the shows, and keeping my feet dry. I do believe, however, they would be better satisfied with me since we are accustomed to each other. I do have other shows, though, so I won't have to be seen barefootin'! Oh me...this is what happens to the 70-year-old mind I guess! I even sent the hubby back in to check it out and he said everything was out. We make great company, don't you think?
