It's "Officially Official"
I have been putting off blogging because I really didn't have anything to say; however, I want to keep my bloggees on board, so here goes. As you know I have been staying home all week due to the "creepy crud". Yesterday, the grandkids came over and spent much of the day. They were quite interesting. Four-year-old Livvy wanted to draw pictures. Then she would tell me what they were. For example, she would draw then say, "this is officially a cow" and later, "this is officially a horse." Everything yesterday was official. Now, I don't know where she heard this word but by using it, I think she was being more emphatic about what her pictures actually were. When Don asked her what the word meant, she just said, "I don't know; but, this is officially official!"
Later on, they wanted to build a campfire and roast marshmallows. So, their dad and Don actually built a fire, sat around in lawn chairs and roasted the marshmallows for them. I have never seen any children love the outdoors as much as or more than those 2. Their stay was truly a pick-me-up for me. You know, after awhile of staying home, I can develop a pretty bad case of "Cabin Fever". It felt extra special to be able to get out and attend church this morning. Our teacher did a great job of teaching about rededicating our lives to Christ, about our reasons for attending church, and personal pride. Hmm...these are things we all need to ponder. Then the pastor preached on prayer, prayer for our church and prayer for all members of God's family. He encouraged us to have a specific place to pray for others, specific prayers to pray and specific people for whom we would be praying. I believe if we do what the pastor suggests, we will find ourselves attending church for the right reasons; we will put our pride in the background; and, we will rededicate our lives to Christ.
