Latte with a Friend

Things have been so ... usual that I haven't even bothered to blog lately. I'm so happy that my 2 daughters are back home and safe after their nice trip to Europe. I was given the neatest surcees today too: the cutest little cuckoo clock magnet from Austria, and the most unique Christmas Tree ornaments that I will surely enjoy putting on my tree in a few months. I had been hoping for some different-looking ones and I love them. They were purchased in Germany and are so neat! Thanks, Daughter! I have enjoyed looking at the photos they took and am anxious to see the movies too.

Since my retirement, I have a friend who also retired, a year than I however. We try to get together at least every other month for a meal and a little shopping. She doesn't live in the same place as I, so we split the difference and each of us drives about 35 miles, or about 45 minutes. It's not too bad and I really enjoy seeing her. We have not been able to meet since my return from Florida so that means we haven't met since the first of December. I can't remember where we planned to meet but at some restaurant that has muffins that she enjoyed so much. We usually end our day together by going to Barnes & Nobles to enjoy the books and a cup of latte. I wish the prices there were not so high but what would a shopping/luncheon meeting day be like without time to enjoy a Latte with a special friend.
