Needing a friend
This has been a very sad time for me and my family. My sister lost her husband of 50 years to that dreaded disease, cancer, May 5, so I have been in mourning with her and her family. If you don't realize the importance of family and close friends, then hopefully, you have not experienced any heart-rending sorrow. I truly have more love and admiration for family and friends since I have witnessed first hand, how comforting it is to have these folks nearby during times of grieving. I would encourage all of you to build a firm and lasting bond with others. How do we do this? We, too, must be a good family member, a good friend, a good neighbor. My mother always told me that to have a friend, I had to be a friend. The fact is that some day in the future, whether near or far, we will face unpleasant events. So, in the meantime, let us all become a true and caring person, a friend. My brother-in-law was such a person: quiet, sincere, unassuming, gentle, and so caring of others, even when he was so very sick. We will miss Marcus so very much.
Thanks to my readers for continuing to read this blog. I ask for your prayers for my family at this time. We're needing a friend.
