Make Time to Listen to the Young
Tonight was choir practice and we enjoyed the fellowship time together. It gets pretty funny with everyone unwinding from a busy day. Our pastor closed our time together with prayer for the many sick church family and friends. That's the sad part of life, knowing that someone is hurting. We just have to turn to God for His guidance and support during such times but it's not easy with deal with pain.
After practice, my sister and I enjoyed talking with one of the newest members of our church, a boy who will soon be going into Junior High School. He is one of the smartest boys and most interesting to talk with. His vocabulary is excellent; he speaks with precision; he excels in courtesy; and, I could go on and on about this young man. Many other boys could learn a great deal from Charles; in fact, all of us could learn a lot from him because he is absolutely full of trivia answers. Do you want to be entertained? Then, do as I did: find a young person, encourage them to talk with you; and, just sit, relax, and enjoy a time of great entertainment! It will lift your spirits, brighten your day, give you a good chuckle, and make you a new friend for years to come!
