Off to Savannah
Today is supposed to be one of the coolest days we have seen this Fall: an amazing high of 69! Now, to me that is not very cool; in fact, it's quite pleasant so long as the winds are not blowing too hard. I don't believe yesterday was any warmer, at least not on the waterfront.
We are getting ready to drive to Savannah, GA, for the day. I think it only about a 30 minute drive. We have been there several times before, but it is a city that I enjoy a lot. I was there one St. Patrick's Day and everything was green. I was told that they celebrate that day more than most cities. There are many squares with fountains in the city and everyone of them was sporting the green. Stores on the riverfront were closed but they had their doorways open and were selling green beer. Finding a place to stay was impossible also. Now, we will see what it's like on a day during Halloween week.
