Gift Cards are OK by Me
Good news! I was able to meet my average number of gifts wrapped: 3! This is a joke! I must do better or I'm going to be in big trouble! I met my good friend with whom I used to work for a late lunch; then we enjoyed each other's company just talking until it was time to attend the retirement reception for another friend who is retiring. I was happy to once again, see many of my other retired friends, most of whom have retired since I have. Even the superintendent drove the 110 miles to attend this get-together. I was impressed!
Tomorrow, I must get serious with the gift-wrapping and taking final inventory of the presents. Hopefully, I only have about 4 more to buy, that is if I can only decide what to buy for these most difficult folks. I'm beginning to lean toward gift cards. I did hear today that the retailers are hoping more people will purchase the cards because they automatically make a lot more money on them, mainly because so many people just put them aside, lose them, or just never use them. That's money gone down the tube when that happens though. I would hope everyone would remember to use them and buy what they would like to have. So far, I have received 2 of them: one for Wally World; and, one for the Christian Bookstore nearby. I will definitely use both of them but I haven't had a chance yet. Also, I want to wait until after Christmas and get some bargains with the cards. I think those are really special gifts.
