Nothing White Here but Tennis Shoes
This day has seemed longer than most, probably because I have been up since 4:00 AM. Why, I don't know other than I just woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Perhaps I was thinking about home where there is an expectation of several inches of snow. Everyone knows that I do love to see the snow falling, to be snowed in, and to see the eagerness on the children's faces as they sled or ask for snow cream. (Unfortunately, there's nothing white here but tennis shoes on all these white-haired snowbirds). I hope they do get some snow to enjoy even though I won't be there to participate in their joy. Just being out of school always caused them much happiness and I didn't mind that they were home. I always enjoyed having my children home, not like some parents that complain, wanting the summer to be over or the other holidays.
Rosie and I went to the big flea market here today and that trek made me tired; thus, I hope that I will rest better tonight. I just heard on the news that flu has reached Florida and I have a couple of friends who are sick. I do hope that it's not flu and that we don't experience any cases around here.
My bad leg is aching from too much walking and bike riding so I'm going now to the showers in hopes that the hot bath with relieve this discomfort. If you live where there is snow, throw a snowball for me and eat a big bowl of snow cream for me too!
