Stepping up to the Box
Did you listen to the Debates in PA last night? I heard part of it as I drove home from choir practice. I am very worried about all our candidates. Their philosophies just don't jive with mine; maybe in one way and not another. I, for one, so wish that Newt Gingrich would throw his name into the hat; in my humble opinion, I believe that he is the most intelligent man on so many of the critical areas in which the president should be knowledgeable. (I'm now reading his three books on the Civil War). I also think he is level-headed, honest, sincere and has the makings of a great leader for our country. He's also easy to listen to as I often do when watching FOX News.
Jumping off that soapbox now, I wonder if you watched American Idol (Is that a subject in the absolute opposite direction?) I have a problem with the emcee, Ryan, asking the contestant to pick the group of kids that he thinks will be safe until next week. David, the safe contestant, did the right thing by sitting down on the stage. How would it make the other contestants feel if he did indeed say you 3 are losers? I think the wrong one went home tonight although the remaining 7 are pretty good. My preference to win it all would be David Archeleta though. I prefer his style over the other David although he, too, has a very good voice. My hubby says they all have good voices but very bad songs! To satisfy him, they should grab songs from the 40's and early 50's, maybe even some from the late 30's.
I have other soapbox issues which I won't step on this morning; it's getting "early" but here they are in a nutshell. I was upset about such news items as the young child being forced to take marijuana; I feel for the women who lost their children in Texas (is polygamy illegal in all states? It should be I think); and, Dr. Phil paying the bond for the young girl involved in the beating of another girl...wrong!.
I'm down now.
