Hanging around the Hospital
I'm sitting in Hubby's hospital room now while he dozes on and off. According to his surgeon, his surgery went very well this morning although it took an hour longer than a normal surgery would have taken. My daughter and 2 sisters came over and sat with me while we waited for the surgery to be over. It's always nice to have family and friends nearby when times are traumatic. I walked outside to use my cell phone and I looked up and there was my niece walking toward me. Now, we are about 50 miles from our home where she lives, so it was a surprise to see her. She was unaware that we were even here; she was on her job of placing nurses in nursing positions and had come to visit the staff at this hospital. That was a nice surprise.
The staff here is very nice and helpful; they are constantly in and out of the room trying to assure that all is well, that we are both comfortable and have no needs. I have a recliner, sheets, pillows, and blanket so I will soon be ready to sack out if Hubby will. I think he is faring much better than he did the last 2 surgeries but the medication they gave him won't completely wear off until around midnight. I'm not sure what will happen then, if we will be able to rest any after that.
The surgeon should be in sometime in the morning and I will blog again after that. I cannot call out on my cell phone because I can't seem to maintain a signal. My sister had a strong signal so I don't know what's going on with my phone. I'm replacing it next week though, a few days too late perhaps.
