A Changed Time for Us
Tomorrow morning, I begin my diabetes education classes which will be held each Tuesday morning for 3 hours at the nearby hospital. I am still in denial about having diabetes and everyone that I have been telling about my blood sugar level agrees that mine is very small if I do indeed have Type 2 Diabetes. Perhaps I will know even more after tomorrow's class. Even if I don't have it, at least the class could be helpful. I love to learn anyway so why not learn more about this rampant disease.
Do you remember what you were doing 5 years ago on this date? One of the networks has been talking with folks about their memories of that dreaded day and how America changed as a result of those horrible attacks. I do recall that I was with my sister who had a doctor's appointment. I dropped her off at the office and I drove over to a used car dealership to look at his cars. While standing in his office chatting with the owner's son, the owner rushed in, turned on the TV, and told us there was a plane crash. This was quite a frightening time for everyone. Don had gone to the nearby military base to the commissary when he heard the news. The base was immediately closed to all traffic. Today, our country is still sitting on edge wondering if something else may occur, especially since we are still receiving information of possible attacks. Yes, America has changed in the past 5 years. I do pray that we are more concerned about the welfare of our neighbors, that we are one in our desires to keep America free, and that we will continue to do as our forefathers by putting our trust in God.
