Distressing News
Today, Don and I received some distressing news. His brother from VA called to let us know that his wife passed away this morning. Jimmy is doing fair but, so far, is facing everything alone since his two daughters haven't arrived yet. One is flying in from Utah and the other one will be driving in today. We feel that we must attend the service; as soon as we have details we will be driving north for a day or two. I request prayers from all of you for this family. Losing a loved one is difficult at all times, but losing someone during the Christmas season is especially hard. This man and his daughters need our prayers.
I hope that you are closer to being ready for Christmas than I. Last night, when I decided to do some wrapping of Christmas gifts, Don decides, at 7:15 PM mind you, that our pantry needed cleaning right then. We had been talking about it and I had just mentioned that it needed doing before we stocked up much for the holidays. In a flash, he was up and going through the shelves! Needless to say, I had to do my share; thus, that's what we did from 7:15 until 11:30 PM! I was so tired that I couldn't sleep very well and Don slept even less. I hope the next time he gets these "urges" to tackle a necessary project, he will choose a better time to begin! At least the pantry is spic and span with room galore for new additions! I'm so glad that chore is behind us so I won't complain to him about this "spur-of-the-moment" major task!
