More Sightseeing Today

Savannah was fine yesterday. We spent several hours at the US 8th Army Air Force Museum. If you haven't seen that, you should go when in the area. It was really quite interesting and very educational. I learned that the US Postal Service will putting out a stamp commemorating Jimmy Stewart, a hero during WWII and also a famous movie star. Don also learned some additional information about General Hap Arnold, in whose funeral he marched when stationed in Washington, DC. (He was quite a hero).

Today, we spent several hours in Beaufort, a beautiful little town just North of Hilton Head, also a place worth the visit. It sits on the river where many yachts anchor down. Many old homes overlook the Savannah River. I bought at book, authored and autographed by Pat Conroy. I purchased "The Water is Wide", on which the movie, "Conrack" is based. This movie is a must-see. Conroy is also author of "The Prince of Tides" among others.

Tomorrow, we will probably stay close in. We don't know what Halloween at Hilton Head is like, but I do hope that yours will be a safe and fun one.
