Off to Blufton

After reading 200 pages of Pat Conroy's book, "The Water is Wide", we found out that he actually traveled from Blufton to the island of Yamacraw, where he taught school. I really enjoyed his books and want to get into more vicarious experiences. To get over to the island, one has to take a ferry so I don't know that we will do that today. We will check it out though. Blufton is where he brought the African American children to begin their Trick or Treating experience, then on to Beaufort where we visited yesterday. I had hoped to see Mr. Conroy but he seldom comes into the town anymore; says it's too crowded now. Will blog more after our return (which will be before the "spooks" get out for the evening).
