Recent Happenings

Wow! It's been so long since I blogged! So much has been happening that I haven't had a chance to get on the computer, even to check my email (I really don't have time now either, but Hubby is reading books to the five-year-olds. They love Dr. Seuss books).

Since my last blog, we have had a wonderful four days in the capital city. We enjoyed days filled with adventures; in fact, we had next to no free time. Our time was spent visiting the Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, the Smithsonian Institute, the National Cathedral, all the Memorials, including FDR, Korean, Vietnam, WWII, Jefferson, Lincoln, Washington, Marine, Air Force, etc. We took the time to attend a Washington Nationals vs. NY Mets baseball game, such as it was ( The Nationals have been having an awful season!). Perhaps I will post some photos later.

Since our return, we have had homecoming at our church and 4 nights of revival, all very good, I might add. Our visiting preacher for homecoming was one of our former pastors whom everyone enjoyed hearing again. Then a young man who grew up in our church preached the revival; what a fine young man he is!

Hubby has been exercising his mended shoulder but healing is a slow process. We have also been keeping our little grandchildren whose parents have returned to their teaching jobs. The children don't start until next Thursday, so we are helping them out with that. They are both such wonderful children that keeping them is a pleasure. Next Thursday, things should be back to a normal routine, at least until we leave for our next camping outing soon.
