Say Yes to Camping
I had a thrill today! My daughter called and asked if we would like to keep the grandchildren for a couple of hours this afternoon. I was so excited to see them come in (I had not seen them since our return from our trip). Evidently, Clay forgot about the telephone because he ran right past it and headed for the toy box. Then, Livvy came running in after him. They played so well with the various toys while I fixed their dinner. (Can you believe these three-year-olds requested salad for their dinner! I gave them some along with some other things as well). After their dessert, they wanted to go outside and play on their motorcycles and they had a ball! If I had a small amount of their energy, I am sure that I would lose all my extra weight plus! Livvy kept wanted her PaPa to build a fire but he told her we would have to wait to the temperature dropped. An hour later, she ran up to him and said, "Is it cool enough yet for my campfire? It's not hot anymore". She even told him where she wanted him to build the campfires later. Those two love to camp about as much as their mom I think. I remember when they were small and we camped in a Coleman pop-up. In fact, we went across country for 6+ weeks. Our two youngest children dammed every stream we camped on across these 3000 miles. We often built campfires just to keep away the mosquitoes or to cook marshmallows or hot dogs. Oh, what great times they were; memories were made that are so dear to my heart today. Thank God for families, togetherness, and campers! If ever you have the opportunity to camp with your beloved children or grandchildren, just say yes...you will be blessed with wonderful memories that will live in your and your family's hearts and minds.
