Our "Pride of the Future"

Folks, the reunion turned out great! And the DVD was a big hit too! In fact, about one-half of the people in attendance want their own copies so that's my next project, getting copies made and distributed. Three of the young people, men at that, decided that the families should continue the reunions each year; therefore, with some coercion, they agreed to take the reins and will be planning one for next year. I think this is great! One thing that impressed me with the attendance this year was the high number of young people present! I would estimate that of the 90 people present, at least 60 of them were under the age of 45. This is really showing a new trend. I believe the young people are turning back to their roots and family morals. What a thrill it was to see them being so friendly to all the older adults, waiting on many of the elderly, and taking initiative after the luncheon to assist in the cleaning of the building. This has never been the case in the past; it's always been the older ones cleaning and being the last to leave the premises. What a wonderful bunch of young people we have in our family and I'm so proud of all of them. It absolutely does the heart good to be a part of this devotion and to witness the "pride of the future" as they begin to fulfill their responsibilities. Parents are playing a significant role in this turnaround as are grandparents but it's the young people themselves who have taken the initiative. What a wonderful Sunday I experienced!
