Cut to the Quick (or, Quick, Don't Cut)
Last week I went to my bank and had my picture made and did all the paperwork to receive a new credit card which would bear my picture (I think this is a great idea and hopefully, will cut back on fraud too). Well, today I received my new credit card in the mail. I was so excited that I immediately went to my wallet, retrieved my card, reached for the scissors, and began to destroy the old card. Wasn't that what I was supposed to do? Of course it was! I did what I was supposed to do; however, I failed to look at the credit card closely. When I took a second look, which was two-thirds the way through my cutting, I saw, in small print, the word, "Check Card". I had shredded the wrong card! After sharing a good laugh with Don, I called the bank and told them what I had done. They, too, had a good laugh at my expense. No harm done, however, a new cash card will be sent to me in a few days. This was told to me after they teased me by saying I would not be able to access my checking account until after Christmas! I knew this was a joke. Kendra told me yesterday to buy a hearing aid; now she will be telling me to have my glasses changed! What do you think, Frannie? (Eyes are your forte)
