The Day for a Hero

Another night with little sleep. I think I had my mind on the motorhome repairs and other insignificant things. I was also trying to figure out why one of my diabetes meters is reading 20 points higher than the other one when they both pass the control test for normalcy. (Maybe I will just keep using the one with the low reading and make myself feel better, with or without accuracy. I know that the A1C is the real measure anyway). I guess I'm going through a phase of not needing much shuteye and that's okay. That just gives me more time to do other things that I like to do (or don't like to do), ie, cleaning, washing, etc. I did get some cleaning done in my closet and some washing done as well.

Today was the day for a hero in a couple of ways. Don celebrated his birthday today but he worked hard around the house. He wanted to seal the driveway before the rains come. He is also losing weight and trying to exercise a lot every day; his definition of evercise is to work extremely hard, physical labor that is. Tonight my daughter called and said she heard noises outside her house so Don, my superhero, gets his pistol (mine rather), puts on his holster, and walks over to check things out. He found nothing so we think it was probably just road noise or perhaps a two-year-old who was not ready to give up the fight and go to sleep. Don was excited to play the hero anyway; the only thing that would have made him happier probably would have been Trigger or Champion standing at a hitching post awaiting the ride through the lonely and dark pass. That little excitement probably just put the icing on his cake...Yea for all the heroes, especially mine!
